MORNINGS WITH MCN!!!

Spruce Grove Minor Hockey in partnership with MCN Sports, is excited to announce

Mornings With MCN!

All sessions are at the TLC at 6:45 am. 

This season we are offering a chance for your young athletes to work on and enhance their skills by having 3 different areas of skill enhancement:

  1. Skating- Players will improve on all areas of skating including- balance, edge work, stops, starts, crossovers and even backwards skating.
  2. Shooting/Puck-handling- players will work on many effective ways of handling and shooting the puck.
  3. Small Area Games- in this area of skill enhancement players will have a chance to showcase their skills in a game like setting. For U13 players we will also take this chance to some introductory focus on the contact side of the game for those moving on to U15 for the 2024/25 season.

All sessions consist of 5- 1 hour ice slots. The dates are as follows:

U9 Skating Mondays- Oct 16, 30, Nov 13, 27, Dec 11

U9 Shooting/Puck-handling Mondays- Oct 23, Nov 6, 20, Dec  4, Jan 8

U11/13 Skating Wednesdays- Oct 18, Nov 1, 15, 29, Dec 13

U11/13 Shooting/Puck-handling Wednesdays- Oct 25, Nov 8, 22, Dec 6, Jan 10

U9/11 Small Area Games Mondays- Jan 15, 22, 29, Feb 5, 12

U13 Small Area Games/Intro to Contact Wednesdays- Jan 17, 24, 31, Feb 7, 14

 

Cost for each 5 session program is an incredible $150! Sign up for all 3 sessions and receive a 10% discount. Spots are limited and will fill up fast. Registration opens October 3rd at 6pm. Sign your player up, and watch them take their skills to the next level.

Player Development
 
MCN has been booked for the U9 – U13 tiered teams once a month from Oct – Feb of the current season.  They will be out for the team practice that is marked PRAC-PD (Player Development) on the master schedule.  (For teams with a shared practice the team with (PD) listed by their team name will be the team that is scheduled for the session (i.e., SG301 (PD). U7s are shared groups.
